چکیده

Networks have changed our life style drastically in last 10 years. We always want to stay connected to an external network like Internet or Intranet with the help of wireless communication. A lot of research has been in done this field to explore the best and the optimum protocols which can be used in Mobile Ad-hoc networks (MANETS), Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) and Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN). Many routing algorithms have been proposed by the researchers in the recent years but the key challenges in these algorithms are: how to identify the optimal route for data communication, how to utilize the energy efficiently, how to provide congestion free communication, how to obtain scalability and how to maintain the Quality of Service of the overall network. To overcome these challenges many techniques have been proposed but one of the most recent and widely adopted technique is swarm Intelligence (SI) Swarm Intelligence has become a research focus in recent years due to their self-organizing nature, which is very suitable to the overcome the routing challenges and problems in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETS). In this paper, we focus on routing algorithms based on Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) & Bee Colony Optimization(BCO) for MANETS that have been designed according to the principles of swarm intelligence..

Comparative Performance Analysis of AODV,DSR, TORA and OLSR Routing Protocols in MANET Using OPNET

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) are receiving a significant interest and are becoming very popular in the world of wireless networks and telecommunication. MANETs consist of mobile nodes which can communicate with each other without any infrastructure or centralized administration. In MANETs, the movement of nodes is unpredictable and complex; thus making the routing of the packets challenging....

Ant Colony based Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Routing Protocols: A Review

Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) are the wireless ad-hoc networks which enclose sovereign group of wireless mobile nodes. The communication is relayed via routes which are discovered using various routing protocols. Diverse routing protocols have been proposed so far in MANETs. Likewise, swarm intelligence (SI) based ant colony optimization (ACO) technique have various routing protocols which ca...

Secure Routing Protocol: Affection on MANETs Performance

In mobile ad hoc networks, the absence ofinfrastructure and the consequent absence of authorizationfacilities impede the usual practice of establishing a practicalcriterion to distinguishing nodes as trusted and distrusted.Since all nodes in the MANETs would be used as router inmulti-hop applications, secure routing protocols have vital rulein the security of the network. So evaluating the perf...

A Review on Ant Based Routing Protocols for Manet

Due to the dynamic nature of MANETs, route maintenance is quite difficult task. Routing is the process by which we choose paths in a network along which the source can send data packets towards destination. It is an important aspect of network communication because the characteristics like reliability, throughput, and congestion depends upon the routing information. An ideal routing algorithm i...

A two-phase wormhole attack detection scheme in MANETs

Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) have no fixed infrastructure, so all network operations such as routing and packet forwarding are done by the nodes themselves. However, almost all common existing routing protocols basically focus on performance measures regardless of security issues. Since these protocols consider all nodes to be trustworthy, they are prone to serious security threats. Wormhole...
